am730 is a Hong Kong free newspaper covering local and international news, finance, property, technology, sport, travel and food.
Online, the newsroom publishes around the clock, and breaking stories bring sudden surges in traffic. The site has to stay fast and readable while carrying a high volume of stories, video and advertising.

- Headless CMS approach, with Twill CMS as the editorial back end and the news site delivered separately from it through an API developed in Go.
- MongoDB and a caching layer to absorb traffic surges when big stories break.
- Cloud server setup to run the platform.
- News portal organised by section — local, international, finance, property, entertainment, lifestyle and more — with a breaking-news stream, columns and video.
- E-paper edition of the daily newspaper and special issues, plus a member zone with offers and events.
