Renew Self-Signed SSL Certificated for SBS 2008

By default, the self-signed certificate for Windows SBS 2008 is valid for 2 years. Upon expiration, OWA will prompt an error about the certificate expiratory. Outlook will not be able to connect to Exchange Server. To Renew the Self-signed certificate, here are the steps to fix it.

1. Open Windows SBS Console.
2. Click Network and then Connectivity Tab
3. View Certificate Properties to verify certificate expiration date
4. to fix the certificate issue. Under the Connectivity Tasks -> Click Fix my network

Multiple Smart Relay for Exchange 2007 SBS

The default SBS Console only allows you to add 1 Smart Relay to deliver email. If you need to setup multiple smart relay host – you will need to set it up from the Exchange Management Console

– Start up your Exchange Management Console
– Under Organization Configuration -> Hub Transport -> Send Connectors
– Click Properties
– Under Network
– ADD / DELETE the smarthost from there

Adding Sender Blacklist in Forefront for Exchange 2007

To add a sender blocking list to Exchange 2007 protected by Forefront, you will need to perform the following actions under “Exchange Management Console”

– Open Organization Configuration
– Hub Transport
– Anti-spam
– Sender Filtering
– Properties
– Add the email address or the domain you want to block.
