West Kowloon Cultural District.

西九文化區 — Arts & culture platform
01 — The challengeOne district, many voices.
West Kowloon is not one venue — it’s a district: M+, the Palace Museum, Freespace, the Art Park and a year-round programme of events. The digital platform had to present all of it to two audiences in three languages, stay fast under ticket-launch traffic, and be run day to day by the district’s own editors.
The editorial team needed to publish fast without engineering help; visitors needed to find what’s on this weekend in two taps.

02 — What we builtA platform built for programmes.
- Headless CMS behind a multilingual website in English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese, with a structured events model — one entry feeds listings, calendars and venue pages.
- Editorial workflow with preview, scheduling and role-based approval for the district’s content teams.
- Integrations with third-party platforms such as Salesforce and Cityline.
- Online donation and payment integration.
- Indexing and caching, so listings and search stay fast through ticket-launch spikes.
- Queueing system integration, to keep the platform steady at peak demand.
- Containerised services on AWS cloud infrastructure, for consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Web accessibility built to WCAG / HK Government recognition-scheme standards.
- Security Risk Assessment and Audit (SRAA) and security-scan findings remediated and re-tested before launch.
- Care plan: monitoring, security patching and on-call support under SLA.
03 — The result.
faster publishing — events go live in minutes, no engineering ticket needed
full bilingual parity across every programme, venue and event page
uptime through peak ticket-launch traffic under the support SLA
“VICOSYS worked as part of our team — they understood that a cultural district runs on its programme, and built the platform around it.”— Digital team, West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (placeholder quote — confirm with client)
